INTERIM BRIDGE AT INDIAN GULCH | COUNTY OF MARIPOSA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS – 2019

During March of 2018, a major storm event caused significant flooding and mudslides in Mariposa County. Indian Gulch bridge was completely washed away, including the piers and approaches. The farmers in this area were not able to easily enter/leave the properties on either side of the creek. A disaster grant was obtained from CalOES (California Governors’ Office of Emergency Services) covering the design and installation of a new temporary bridge and approaches to restore traffic use over Indian Gulch.

Myriad provided project management for this project including maintaining budget and schedule, coordination of design, construction services, environmental, right of way/easement, and coordination with County staff. We reviewed drawings and specifications for compliance with grant requirements, environmental requirements, and property encroachment. Coordination efforts included ensuring that the project constructability based on environmental documentation, bridge design, right of way acquisition for temporary construction easements, and construction contractor changes.
